Often compared to Kenya coffee (also the Robusta species of coffee), Rwanda coffee is delicate tasting with a pleasant, sweet, caramel-like aroma and hints of citrus such as lemon & orange. Tasting notes include raisins, vanilla, molasses and chocolate. Our Rwandan Coffee is from an Award-Winning single plantation (not a blend). This coffee is grown at an elevation of 5,200 feet in the southern province which includes the eastern edge of the Nyungwe Forest, home to many Chimpanzees. The coffee grown here is Robusta. Our Rwandan Coffee is bold with a smootth finish and has several middle notes. If you have a french press or percolator, choose Medium Coarse Grind to bring out the Music!

Rwanda is a landlocked East African country with a green, mountainous landscape. Its renowned Volcanoes National Park is home to mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. The park encompasses 4,507m-tall Mt. Karisimbi and 4 other forested volcanoes. In the southwest is Nyungwe National Park, with ancient montane rainforest that's a habitat for chimpanzees and other primates. Rwanda borders Uganda to the north, Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west, Burundi to the south and Tanzania to the east.
