Tanzania coffee has a bright and vibrant, wine-like acidity. It can even be sharp, with a deep, rich, and strong taste. Often full or medium bodied that is intense and creamy. Some say it can have a sweet berry-like, fruity flavor and occasionally hints of cedar. Our Tanzanian Coffee is from an Award-Winning single plantation (not a blend).
Tasting notes include chocolate, cherries and caramel. This coffee is grown at an elevation of 5,900 feet in the southern highlands of Mbeya growing region. Tanzania is an East African country known for its vast wilderness areas. They include the plains of Serengeti National Park, a safari mecca populated by the “big five” game (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino), and Kilimanjaro National Park, home to Africa’s highest mountain. Offshore lie the tropical islands of Zanzibar, with Arabic influences, and Mafia, with a marine park home to whale sharks and coral reefs. Tanzania lays south of Uganda and Kenya and north of Mozambique. Its eastern coast is along the Indian Ocean.
